HESNI and CHFM Featured in Chicago Hospital News
Thanks to a well drafted article from written by Jeff Arthurs (HESNI Past President), HESNI and the CHFM exam was highlighted in the December edition of Chicago Hospital News. The article described the value of the CHFM credential to hospital executives and highlighted the HESNI training course which 20-25 of our members took part. Fast times at Chicago Indoor Racing, Addison, Illinois
Ryan Boyle holds up the celebratory "number one" next his Formula 20 Indy (as in indoor) race car, which carried him to the checkered flag first. Ryan's best lap, clocked at 31.93 seconds, was less than 2 seconds less than the last place finalist – to indicate just how close of a race it was!
The field was crowded and competition tough at HESNI's 2nd annual "Half-Fast Cup" indoor race. The participants underwent a thorough briefing before suiting up and climbing behind the driver's wheel of their race cars. Each in identical red coveralls and white racing helmet, they may have looked the same. However, when the white flag waved, the engines roared and the struggle began to determine this year's "half-fast" champion. It took a series of qualifying elimination rounds, across the narrow track and sharp turns of the indoor track, to pare the field to 16 finalists who then slugged it our for 30 laps.
