Dear HESNI Member,

As our group events have moved online and into the virtual world, we are planning a virtual HESNI meeting and webinar for Thursday, August 6. The one-hour event will begin at noon and all HESNI Members are invited to join us remotely from your computer or other digital device.  

Following a few brief announcements, we’ll turn the conversation over to our special guest presenters who will begin an informative discussion to enhance your lunch hour. The topic will not be about COVID-19, but rather will focus on YOU! The healthcare experts at Gosselin/Martin Associates have developed a 45-minute presentation specifically for HESNI members. It will describe internal and external factors that influence facilities careers. These are challenging times to work in healthcare facilities. No matter your role — director, manager, supervisor, or tradesperson — you are likely beyond maxed out; you probably have little time to think about “big picture” items related to your organization and your career. This program will touch on several areas to help make sense of the industry today, identify trends, discuss competencies needed for success, and review all the necessary hard skills and soft skills.

Our Presenters

Gosselin Associates, now Gosselin/Martin Associates, was founded more than 15 years ago by Jack Gosselin. The firm, located in Massachusetts, has worked coast-to-coast for more than 190 hospital systems in all healthcare facility-related disciplines, including facilities management, planning, design, and construction, real estate management, leadership education, and recruiting. 

As Founder and Principal of Gosselin/Martin Associates, Jack Gosselin held facilities administration leadership roles, including Facility Director, in healthcare organizations for over two decades in the New England area. Previously, he has served two terms on the Board of Directors of The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). Jack was awarded his Fellow designation in ASHE. He is a frequent lecturer and contributor to national conferences and publications.

After several years of healthcare facilities, real estate, and construction management experience, Peter Martin joined the firm six years ago and became Owner 2 years ago. Previously, Pete worked at Steward Health Care in Boston, managing internal project managers and external consultants on capital construction projects while working closely with Steward facility directors. He was part of Steward as the organization transitioned from a not-for-profit system, to a for-profit system. Pete has presented numerous times at the ASHE Annual Conference and regional engineering societies, and is a contributor to national facility management publications.
